It means greater support, more flexibility, and new learning model options—while keeping our local team, campus, and community focus.
Yes, many of our current staff are returning. Familiar faces will remain a strong part of our school culture.
Like in previous years, K-6 grade students who were on campus full-time will continue to receive in-person instruction. Despite the term “eAcademy,” MCS will offer both traditional in classroom options and a blended education model. Some families may choose to use home-based learning with an “Epic Day”, a one in-person day per week, for collaborative, hands-on learning and connection, while others will spend five days a week in the classroom.
We are excited to introduce a K-8 blended education option and hope to welcome some new students through this program.
No. Families have the option of participating in the traditional or blended education programs.
Uniforms will not be required for the 2025/2026 school year, but uniform shirts will likely be offered for sale if students are interested in wearing them.
Blended Education
Blended Education is a partnership between the school and parents who wish to educate their children at home and provides these students with school resources to bolster their academic success. This is a great program for homeschooling parents or parents who want a different academic approach than the traditional classroom setting for students in grades K-8. Learn more about the Blended Education program in the Athenian Academy Blended Education Handbook.
Yes, if needed.
It’s a mix of at-home, individualized support curriculum with one on-campus day per week, known as Epic Day.
EPIC Day: Once a week, students get together to participate in fun, hands-on educational activities that focus on STEM and Social Studies/History directed by a licensed teacher. A great chance for students to socialize with peers and give parents a break.
There are numerous & flexible choices for curriculum. The school will provide families with both online and physical curriculum based on the students’ academic level. Parents will work with the ES to custom design a curriculum specific to each student. Athenian uses a multi-tier system of support to meet each student’s particular academic needs. Additional student support is provided for students who need assistance.
Students attend one “EPIC Day” on campus each week, where they meet one-on-one with their Blended Ed Teacher. Additional on-campus days may be arranged based on individual student needs and learning goals.
In most cases, parents can support their child at home to meet the required IEP minutes. However, if more support is needed, students can come to campus to receive services directly from our Special Education department. Speech services can also be provided virtually from home if that’s preferred.
Parents are asked to complete a Google form once a week to report on student progress and activities. Additionally, parents meet with their student’s teacher in person once a month to review their student’s binder and discuss any questions, concerns, or needed support.
Yes, the program will include grades K–8 for the upcoming school year.
